Our Business Segments
Apprentices & Trainee Employment
Apprenticeships Queensland (AQ) employs apprentices and trainees across a broad range of vocational areas managing the off the job training and providing the on the job training in partnerships with business.
AQ allows the apprentice or trainee to either complete their entire tenure at the same employer or rotate through a series of employers to gain the full range of skills.
It also allows business the flexibility to respond to market demands by returning the apprentice to the group training company during a downturn. The apprentice is then re-assigned to another host employer to complete their apprenticeship. The apprentices enjoy continuity of work, and the host employers can respond quickly to labour market demands. This is a win-win for both parties.
Recruitment and Managed Services
Our recruitment service includes all aspects of recruitment and placement including advertising, resume screening, interviewing and aptitude testing(where required). This also involves matching the applicant to the employer’s environment.
AQ Managed Services includes all aspects of apprentice and trainee management. For a small monthly management fee this service offers
- employer OHS assessments, recommendations and support
- a dedicated AQ Employment Consultant
- scheduled supervisor visits
- scheduled apprentice/trainee visits
- training program management
- training plan progress reporting
- industry and legislative updates
- support and training on management of young people in the workplace
Training Options
AQ Training works in partnerships with large Registered Training Organisation – and TAFE Queensland to deliver training programs to meet the needs of local business and industry.
The goal of the training programs is to provide a skilled workforce for the region in areas such as aged care, home and community care, child care, logistics, hospitality, construction, automotive and engineering.
AQ training recruits and provides support for students to gain vocational placement leading to real employment outcomes.
AQ Labour Hire
AQ Labour Hire will recruit and employ staff for short or long term positions, for skilled, semi-skilled or unskilled positions.
We will work with business to assist with workforce planning and provide the jobseeker with opportunities for employment.
The hourly charge out fee for business includes:
- Wages
- Income Tax
- Statutory Workcover
- Superannuation
- Allowances
Career Planning
AQ Careers works closely with schools, students and parents. We provide career advice and work placement opportunities for students. We engage with vocational education teachers and parents to provide up to date industry information.
AQ Careers has a full time school liaison officer who is available to conduct student interviews and negotiate work experience as requested by the school. This program has had great success over the last 15 years leading to many students gaining school based apprenticeships. Also businesses that engage with this program find it an effective recruitment tool.
