A combination of paid work and off-the-job training (college) that, if successfully completed, will gain you a recognised qualification. This qualification will enhance your career, and give you the opportunity to continue through to either apprenticeship (trade qualification) or diploma level.
A typical full-time traineeship takes 12 months to complete, and a part-time traineeship, 24 months.
Most traineeships require you to have completed Year 10, and some work experience in your chosen vocational field would be an advantage. You also need to have a strong commitment to your traineeship, as you will be required to complete formal training e.g. workbooks and assessments, to gain your qualification.
