Dave Handyside – General Manager

Dave started with the company in 1988 as a Field Officer, successfully making the transition to Manager, then General Manager. With 20 years experience in the group training industry, he is also President of the Group Training Association of Queensland and Northern Territory, and a Director of Group Training Australia Limited.

Wendy Tierney – Employment Services Manager

From Placement Officer to Employment Consultant to Employment Services Manager, Wendy has achieved much in her 6 years at AQ. While still managing a substantial portfolio of apprentices, Wendy also trains and mentors a team of Employment Consultants, and manages the team workload. Her skill and commitment was recognised by the GTANQ at their 2007 Awards, when she won Field Officer of the Year.


 
Matt Costello – Corporate Services Manager
Matt Costello.jpg As a CPA, Matt provides financial administration support to the General Manager in the implementation of Board policies and strategic objectives, and supervises the workload of the Administration team. With a background in the club industry prior to starting at AQ early in 2007, Matt’s broad experience gives him a well-grounded approach to group training.

Mike Tierney Williams - Employment Consultant

    Mike came to AQ 4 years ago from a varied employment background, including agriculture and warehousing, both in Australia and the UK, where he was a Warehouse Manager. He looks after the construction industry, and has forged strong relationships with both our existing hosts, apprentices and trainees, and the new people he has introduced to the benefits of group training.
 
Ros Englund – Employment Consultant

Ros commenced at AQ in the role of workplacement coordinator. After nearly two years in that role she has opted for a chance to work as an employment consultant. 

When the role   became available Ros was ready for the chanllenge. In her new role she is now managing the business trainees as well as the automotive apprentices both full time and school based.

Paul Holdway– Employment Consultant
 PaulH.jpg Paul has recently joined the AQ team.  He has a construction trade background and has for the past few years been working in the training area with the Construction Training Centre.  Paul lives in Kalbar and will be a great assest to the organisation.

Anita Dwyer – Marketing and Recruitment
Anita Dwyer.jpg     Anita’s creative flair with marketing material has been solidly utilised in the 12 months she has been with AQ. An enthusiastic promoter of group training and AQ, her experience in SATS and recruitment is invaluable in securing a steady flow of suitable applicants, and increased awareness of AQ’s role in the community.

Michelle Kerr – Workplacement Coordinator
Michelle Kerr 2.jpg     Since starting with AQ early in 2008 as an adminstration officer, Michelle worked as an employment consultant and has now moved to her current role working in the schools.  Michelle has taken on the role of Workplacment Coordinator. As AQ's key contact for schools in the region, Michelle is working with the schools to create school based apprenticeships and traineeship opportunities.

Lorraine Browning - Payroll Officer

    With extensive administration experience in retail, construction and engineering, Lorraine started at AQ in 1999 as a payroll specialist, and continues in this role to date. She is responsible for the processing of a weekly payroll of approx 300 people across a range of vocational areas with differing awards, EBA’s and other workplace agreements. She is also our guru on industrial relations, WorkCover and Rehab issues.
 
Karen Payne – Systems Coordinator
Karen Payne.jpg     From a varied background in administration, training and WH&S, Karen started at AQ in 2001 in the accounts area, then transitioned to systems documentation and implementation, first with the ISO standards, and later to ensure AQ met the requirements of the National Standards for Group Training Organisations.

Judy Greene – Administration Officer

Judy started with AQ in 2000 as a School-based Employment Consultant, building successful relationships with schools and establishing SATS as a key strategic component of the business. Judy reduced her work to part time in 2008 and  has now taken on key role at reception.

Laraine Corrigan – Accounts Officer

Since starting at AQ early in 2008, Laraine has provided support in our busy payroll area, quite a departure from her previous long-term role in the banking industry. She brought to AQ solid data entry skills, a customer service focus. In 2009 Laraine has moved to the position of Accounts Officer which she has taken on with great enthusiasm.

Donna Templeton – Administration Officer

Sound admin and computer skills, an eye for detail and the tenacity to follow up every loose end are just some of the attributes Donna brings to her role. With 6 years service at AQ, her willingness and efficiency at providing back office support to the employment consultants has vastly improved productivity.
