Reg Hart – Chairman of the Board

The first manager of IMCAS (now AQ), Reg worked tirelessly in the first 18 months of the organisation’s formation to establish the solid foundation built on by succeeding managers. Reg stepped back into the fold in 2003 as the current Chairman of AQ. Reg is the Company Manager of Aviation Welding Australia and a community representative on the Board.

Maria Kelly CA

Maria is a partner in Ipswich accounting firm, Harding Martin, and specialises in taxation and business services. She is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Queensland.
Maria is also a trustee on the Board of Trustees for the Ipswich Girls Grammar School, and is a member and Treasurer of the Zonta Club of West Moreton Area Inc. Maria represents the Ipswich Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the AQ Board.

Neil McPhillips

Neil McPhillips has been a Director of Apprenticeships Queensland for three years. Neil has previously held positions in public and private companies, to the level of Chief Executive Officer, and has also owned and operated his own successful private companies.

Neil is also an Associate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and delivers training courses to business and not-for-profit organisations on issues of Corporate Governance etc. He is an industry representative on the AQ Board.

Sheila Ireland

Sheila is an enthusiastic community worker and a prominent businesswoman. Sheila was elected as Councillor for Division 9 in March 2004, qualifying her for a position on the Board of Apprenticeships Queensland as the Ipswich City Council representative.
Sheila has been a successful business person owning Pamela Brown's Cards and Gifts in the Ipswich Central for 15 years as well as several other retail businesses. Sheila is a member and past secretary of The Zonta Club of West Moreton as well as many other community organisations.

Darren Yarrow

As a former Apprenticeships Queensland apprentice, Darren knows the long-term career value of group training. Darren completed his electrical apprenticeship in 1992 and now operates his own successful business as an electrical contractor.

Darren’s activities outside of work are all adventure-based, and his treks and travels read like a supplement to the Lonely Planet guide. He is an industry representative on the AQ Board.
